Frequent Flyer — Undergraduate Thesis

Airports are middle zones that stand in between destinations and destinations. They mark the beginning of a new story or the end of a journey. Whatever is on the other end of the journey—families, lover, friends—is blurred over time in memories yet every moment in an airport still sparkles through the matter of time. Sometimes airports feel like home.

Role: film production / exhibition design / book design / visual design

This project is a collection of narrative images, texts, sounds and video, that as an entity, offers an experience one could find in an airport.   The exhibition is located in a space similar to an airport terminal, with huge windows receiving sunlight that changes the effects of those translucent posters, providing different views through out the day.

I marked down the airport codes of those ones that I've been from A to Z and created a dictionary with words and phrases that are related to experiences or emotions in airports.

As a frequent traveler, I took a great a mount of images in airports through out the past few years. I presented them with a few stories written by strangers that could be shared with any travelers in a book designed to mimic the structure of a terminal. Each section of the book is paged with a letter and a number like most airport terminals.
